In the weeks after September 11, members of the Artists Network joined with other artists in developing the performance "OUR GRIEF IS NOT A CRY FOR WAR." During these performances which were held in Union Square and Times Square, up to 175 artists stood silently for an hour in formation, dressed in black, wearing dust masks carrying signs reading, "Our Grief is not a Cry for War." Photos of the performances appeared on the Yahoo.com home page, the magazines Art in America and American Theater, and in newspapers and on web sites across the world. More performances on themes dealing with these dangerous times are being brainstormed for the new year.
